LG Display, the South Korean LCD Panel maker, has announced the world’s slimmest full HD LCD panels for smartphones. The 5.2 inches panel will offer amazing viewing experience and better grip-ability to the users.
The panel is merely 2.2 mm thin and features a 2.3 mm bezel. LG says that with the new LCD panel, consumers can expect a sleeker FHD smartphone, which will be easier to grip and lighter in weight.
Based on Advanced One Glass Solution (OGS) technology, the LCD panel from LG comes with dual flexible printed circuits, which reduce the number of lines on the panel by up to 30 percent.
1080 x 1920 pixels, comprising Red, Green, Blue (RGB) sub-pixels have been utilized in the panel, which has the brightness of 535 nits at maximum.Certified by Intertek, a well-known, testing firm, the LCD panel offers better performance even in sunlight.
Dr. Byeong-Koo Kim, Vice President and Head of LG Display’s IT and Mobile Development Group said that “Today’s introduction of the world’s slimmest Full HD LCD panel represents an exciting advancement for the high-end smartphone segment, and is possible due to our world-class expertise in IPS and touch technologies.”
